Screenplay writers are needed these days to create something new. There area a lot of stories that are worth being told and having the lack of imagination to make these stories is just sad. The world is in need of something new may it be in movies, television or plays. Remakes of old stories are not that fun when you know the story that is going to happen already.

Screenplay writing requires a lot of imagination if you want the studio to make your screenplay come to life. A lot of screenplays are not being accepted by studios these days because of lack of originality in the story or the lack of creativity which makes the story boring.

There are a lot of studios to choose from but each studio is different. They might have preference over one type of story to another. One good thing you can do to get your script read by a studio and have the chance of it being produced is to get an agent who can help you out and submit to all the studios that there is. With this method, you can have a better chance of your script being accepted by a studio that will like your story.

Are you in the process of writing your first screenplay? Are you unsure how to begin, or how to stay on the right track? If you want some great tips, read these five things that you should always keep your focus on.

- Your end result.
Don’t lose track of the big picture. It is important to pay attention to the small things, but doing that too much can cause you to get lost.

- Your audience.
What kind of screenplay are you writing? Who do you think will enjoy it the most? Never forget exactly who your intended audience is, or you will write something that is not the perfect fit for any audience type.

- Your budget.
Be sure to write something with a feasible budget. Huge space battles, enormous A-list casts, or any other huge expenses can make a movie fun, but they are not a requirement, and will make producing your movie much more difficult.

- Your characters.
Don’t lose track of the people in your screenplay. Keep their motivations as the driving force of your plot.

- Your self.
Never lose track of yourself within your screenplay. While you are writing, you can get caught up in trying to please others, but make certain you also please yourself.

A common question while writing screenplays is “am I taking too long to write my script?” Getting hung up on a time limit can hinder the creative process and cause unneeded frustration. The answer to this question, simply put, is no. If you do not have a deadline, whether it be from a production house, a festival, a contest, or any other type, there is no “taking too long”. The main factor of writing an effective script is creativity. Any writer will tell you that creativity can come in bursts, but sometimes those bursts don’t happen in a matter of days, or even weeks. Let it happen organically, and try not to harp on how long the creative process may be taking. Another key factor of script writing is preparation. Prep work such as research, outlining, and basic character development, can often be a long, and sometimes painful process, however, the importance of solid preparation cannot be overlooked. Writing a script is a very creative and personal journey, and unless you, the writer, have some sort of deadline, whether real or self inflicted, then there should be no time table on the creative process. Don’t force your script, nurture it.

We’ve seen the montages in TV and film: the struggling screenwriter traipsing from office to office, having door after door shut in his face. Then, as he’s just about to toss his typewriter in the trash, our hero is discovered! It’s a one-in-a-million chance!

Which is exactly why you need to use all of the tools available today to get your name in front of the right people. Tools such as blogs, social media, and podcasting can be used to promote your project.

Blog it. There are any number of sites which allow you to display select bits of your work online, and you don’t have to be a web designer to get a good, professional-looking site. The whole story can be found at http://martingysler.com/2011/06/13/twenty-feet-the-social-media-tool-youve-all-been-waiting-for-social-media/

Social Media. Use these sites to drum up interest and word-of-mouth for your project. The more people who know about you and your work, the more likely that “right person” is to hear about it.

Podcasting. You can easily find a podcast with an interest in your subject. Send them a promo to play, do interviews as well.

The virtual landscape means there are more “right people” and even more ways to get to them today than ever.

So what are you waiting for?

Writing the screenplay for the next “Godfather” hit is something every serious writer strives for. Unfortunately, the reason many screenwriters fail to produce quality work is because they fail to take direction from writing guides. There are so many tips and tricks that a writer can use to create fascinating and mind boggling characters.

Developing characters for a screenplay can begin with one simple step. This step is outlining the biographical information of one character in the screenplay.Didn’t catch that? This explains it. Second, one must decide what a character will accomplish in the screenplay. A writer will want to conjure up the most important scenes of the play in order to see what the purpose of a character is.

The next step in character development is to consider how a character will achieve his or her goals in a play. Will he or she resort to psychological or manipulative tactics? If so, then the writer should clearly outline these tactics in the screenplay. Lastly, one will want to consider the location in which the character lives. If the character lives in the Midwest, then he or she will undoubtedly have a different attitude than a character from the city streets of the Bronx in New York.

With these tips, a writer will be able to clearly convey a character’s thoughts, feelings, and motives to any audience with no problem.
