Are you in the process of writing your first screenplay? Are you unsure how to begin, or how to stay on the right track? If you want some great tips, read these five things that you should always keep your focus on.
- Your end result.
Don’t lose track of the big picture. It is important to pay attention to the small things, but doing that too much can cause you to get lost.
- Your audience.
What kind of screenplay are you writing? Who do you think will enjoy it the most? Never forget exactly who your intended audience is, or you will write something that is not the perfect fit for any audience type.
- Your budget.
Be sure to write something with a feasible budget. Huge space battles, enormous A-list casts, or any other huge expenses can make a movie fun, but they are not a requirement, and will make producing your movie much more difficult.
- Your characters.
Don’t lose track of the people in your screenplay. Keep their motivations as the driving force of your plot.
- Your self.
Never lose track of yourself within your screenplay. While you are writing, you can get caught up in trying to please others, but make certain you also please yourself.
